| We were told only 10 were made. It wasn't working. We repaired, mended and restored the beauty and the function. It plays a 21" pierced metal plate with a double comb. You can hear this hundred-year-old sound today -- for a penny a play. | ![]() | ![]() |
![]() | The company was started in the 1880s by a German who hired Swiss watchmakers to make the movements for the music boxes, floor and table models. They went out of business in 1900 thanks to Edison's new invention: the phonograph. But you might recognize the name, because they started a new game: producing the Regina Vacuum Cleaner. | 8. Oak Door Before and After. We stripped seven coats of paint and fumed the antique oak wood to look like English brown oak, for a natural wood finish. We closed the door on this job. | ||
