55. 1930s Navajo Vertical-Loomed Rug: an Artful Restoration We repaired three punctures and 12 yarn pulls and we removed some unsightly stains. The colors were all vegetable dyes which tend to bleed when they get wet, thereby scaring off all the regular rug cleaners. We matched the colors and repaired the punctures and pulls and gave them instructions on how to hang it for a wall piece.
