The first is a surprise Valentine Party Dinner on her grandmother's repaired dining room table. Art wanted to give her the work as a present for Valentine's Day. I suggested he stop by with Sue to inquire about having the work done on their way out to having Valentine's Day dinner. Not only was the table set with their silverware and china, but it held a dozen roses, a bottle of wine and a shrimp and lobster Chinese dinner. I wore a tie that evening and served them at the studio on this special occasion...maybe you'd have me in a tux? |

| The following pictures were taken at a surprise birthday party. We had restored her mother's cedar chest. To reflect her mother's love of her flower garden, we painted the doyen's birth flower on the finished treasure. From their Polish heritage and holiday baking traditions, we created a back leg in the shape of a chrusicki, a Polish fried pastry with powdered sugar. The leg we removed from the chest became the stem for a small cedar-based table lamp with Mom's birth flowers cut and stenciled into the shade. To top off the presentation, we hired a paramedic and a private ambulance to arrive at the end of the party, lights blazing and sirens wailing. The paramedic came in pulling a stretcher and carrying a straightjacket, declaring, "I hear there's a husband here who does crazy things for the wife he loves, and who needs to be put away SAFELY!!!" Soooo, Ed was put into the straightjacket, strapped to the stretcher and taken for a short ride around the block. The legacy can roll for you, too. | ||||||
